Adriatic LNG, the first offshore LNG regasification terminal in the Mediterranean, recently celebrated a significant milestone with the arrival of its 1,000th shipment. The terminal has played a key role in diversifying Europe's gas supplies and meeting its growing demand for natural gas. Adriatic LNG is a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil, and Edison. It began operations in 2009 and has since delivered more than 80 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Italy and other European countries. The terminal has a regasification capacity of 8 billion cubic meters per year and consists of a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), a subsea pipeline system, and an onshore gas pipeline.
